Poetry as Protest

Resistance is Fertile, an exhibition of protest poetry as art by Narberth Poets has opened in the Tower gallery at Oriel y Parc, St Davids.

The show, which features poems and linked artwork, is open until February 22nd and entry is free.

The six poets have created new pieces for the exhibition since it was first shown at Narberth Museum last summer and an audio installation featuring five more writers has been also been added – to include poetry readings by Dave Urwin, Mel Perry Mark Lewis, Luise Thomas and Jai Wu Li.

The original six Narberth writers created this project to protest against political, social and environmental injustices in the world today — Bean Sawyer, Jane Campbell, Jackie Biggs, Jean Riley, Christian Donovan and Emma Baines believe that through poetry they can sow the seeds of social change and inspire others to challenge the status quo.
