Submissions are now open for the Wales Book of the Year 2026 Award.<\/p>\n
The Wales Book of the Year Award is an annual prize celebrating outstanding literary talent from Wales across many genres and in both English and Welsh.<\/p>\n
There are four categories in each language \u2013\u00a0Poetry,\u00a0Fiction,\u00a0Creative Non-fiction\u00a0and\u00a0Children & Young People, with one of the four category winners announced as the overall winner, and claiming the title\u00a0Wales Book of the Year. There are 12 awards in total with a collective prize fund of \u00a314,000. In both Welsh and English there are four category winners, one people\u2019s choice winner and one overall winner.<\/p>\n
The national awards play an essential part in Literature Wales\u2019 programme of activity and contributes to its strategic aim of celebrating and representing Wales\u2019 writers, its heritage and rich literary culture.
